Fomantis 85/84 · Pitch Black

Fomantis is Pokédex #753, generation 7 (Alola). Fomantis is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 70 HP.

Fomantis sits at 85/84 in Pitch Black, position 85 of 120. Before it is 84 Voltaic Lightning Energy, and after it is 86 Armarouge. The set belongs to the Mega Evolution series. It was released on July 17, 2026. The printed size is 84. This checklist is longer, at 120 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 84. The listed rarity is Illustration Rare.

The attack Reckless Charge lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass. This Pokémon also does 10 damage to itself. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Many Trainers give their Fomantis their own flowerpots so they can sunbathe in peace and quiet." The regulation mark is J.

Fomantis (#753) has 5 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 5 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2026. The earliest other card is Fomantis 14/149 in Sun & Moon (2017). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. The rarity there is Common, and here it is Illustration Rare. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Jiro Sasumo illustrated this one. 3 other cards of Fomantis list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Jiro Sasumo. I count 29 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Pitch Black set binder is where a full Pitch Black set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Fomantis can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). I still need this card.
