Articuno 18/128 · 30th Celebration

30th Celebration is a set in the Mega Evolution series. It was released on September 16, 2026. The printed size is 128. This checklist is longer, at 161 cards. Articuno is 18/128, in position 18 of 161 on this checklist. Before it is 17 Lapras, and after it is 19 Kyogre. The listed rarity is Common.

Articuno is a Basic Water Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Articuno (#144), generation 1 (Kanto).

HYOGONOSUKE illustrated this card. The same name is on 76 other cards in the catalog.

Articuno (#144) has 45 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 30 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Articuno 22/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Common. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and HYOGONOSUKE illustrated this one. 32 other cards of Articuno list a different HP.

Frosty Flapping is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, if you have Moltres and Zapdos in play, you may use this Ability. Attach a Basic Water Energy card from your hand to this Pokémon. The attack Hail lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. This attack does 30 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The regulation mark is J.

I keep a set binder for 30th Celebration, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the 30th Celebration set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Articuno can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
