Unown [A] 14/75 · Neo Discovery

Neo Discovery is a set in the Neo series. It was released on June 1, 2001. The printed size is 75, and the checklist is the same length. Unown [A] is 14/75, in position 14 of 75 on this checklist. Before it is 13 Umbreon, and after it is 15 Ursaring. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Unown [A] is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 40 HP. The card lists level 15. In the Pokédex this is Unown (#201), generation 2 (Johto).

CR CG gangs illustrated this card. The same name is on 26 other cards in the catalog.

Unown (#201) has 95 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Unown [J] 38/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Unown [J], while this one is Unown [A]. Both list 40 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Hideki Kazama illustrated that card, and CR CG gangs illustrated this one. 74 other cards of Unown list a different HP.

[Anger] is listed as Pokémon Power. Whenever 1 of your Pokémon with Unown in its name uses its Hidden Power attack, that attack does 10 more damage for each damage counter on Unown [A]. If you have more than 1 Unown [A] in play, use only 1 [Anger] for each attack. The attack Hidden Power lists 10 damage. The cost is Psychic. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: You may have up to 4 Basic Pokémon cards in your deck with Unown in their names. The flavor text reads "Their shapes look like hieroglyphs on ancient tablets. It is said that the two are somehow related."

I keep a set binder for Neo Discovery, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Neo Discovery set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Unown can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Unown. I still need this card.
