Cascoon 44/127 · Platinum

Platinum is a set in the Platinum series. It was released on February 11, 2009. The printed size is 127. This checklist is longer, at 133 cards. Cascoon is 44/127, in position 44 of 133 on this checklist. Before it is 43 Carnivine, and after it is 45 Combusken. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Cascoon is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 10. In the Pokédex this is Cascoon (#268), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Wurmple. In this catalog that name is Wurmple (#265). The card lists Dustox, Dustox (#269) under evolves to.

Yukiko Baba illustrated this card. The same name is on 151 other cards in the catalog.

Cascoon (#268) has 8 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 8 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Cascoon 26/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Midori Harada illustrated that card, and Yukiko Baba illustrated this one. 4 other cards of Cascoon list a different HP.

The attack Ascension lists no damage number. Search your deck for a card that evolves from Cascoon and put it onto Cascoon. (This counts as evolving Cascoon.) Shuffle your deck afterward. Poison Thread is another attack lists 20 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Poisoned. Weakness is Fire +20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It never forgets any attack it endured while in the cocoon. After evolution, it seeks payback."

I keep a set binder for Platinum, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Platinum set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Cascoon can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
