Carnivine 43/127 · Platinum

Carnivine is Pokédex #455, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Carnivine is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 38.

Carnivine sits at 43/127 in Platinum, position 43 of 133. Before it is 42 Cacturne, and after it is 44 Cascoon. The set belongs to the Platinum series. It was released on February 11, 2009. The printed size is 127. This checklist is longer, at 133 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Stretch Vine lists no damage number. The cost is Grass. Choose 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. This attack does 10 damage to each of them. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Absorb is another attack lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Remove 2 damage counters from Carnivine. Vine Extract is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass. If the Defending Pokémon already has any damage counters on it, the Defending Pokémon is now Burned and Poisoned. Weakness is Fire +20. Resistance is Water -20. Retreat cost is 2.

Carnivine (#455) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Carnivine 21/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 10 other cards of Carnivine list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mitsuhiro Arita. I count 721 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Platinum set binder is where a full Platinum set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Carnivine can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
