Carnivine 7/17 · POP Series 8

Carnivine is Pokédex #455, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Carnivine is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 70 HP. The card lists level 32.

Carnivine sits at 7/17 in POP Series 8, position 7 of 17. Before it is 6 Cherrim, and after it is 8 Luxio. The set belongs to the POP series. It was released on September 1, 2008. The printed size is 17, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Swallow Up lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Before doing damage, count the remaining HP of the Defending Pokémon and Carnivine. If the Defending Pokémon has fewer remaining HP than Carnivine's, this attack does 60 damage instead. Wring Out is another attack lists 20 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed and discard an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Fire +20. Resistance is Water -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It attracts prey with its sweet-smelling saliva, then chomps down. It takes a whole day to eat prey."

Carnivine (#455) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Carnivine 21/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. 15 other cards of Carnivine list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kouki Saitou. I count 652 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

POP Series 8 set binder is where a full POP Series 8 set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Carnivine can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
