Pelipper 45/99 · Arceus

Arceus is a set in the Platinum series. It was released on November 4, 2009. The printed size is 99. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. Pelipper is 45/99, in position 45 of 111 on this checklist. Before it is 44 Manectric, and after it is 46 Ponyta. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Pelipper is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 90 HP. The card lists level 49. In the Pokédex this is Pelipper (#279), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Wingull. In this catalog that name is Wingull (#278).

Naoyo Kimura illustrated this card. The same name is on 256 other cards in the catalog.

Pelipper (#279) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Pelipper 19/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Naoyo Kimura illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 14 other cards of Pelipper list a different HP.

The attack Water Ball lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Water Energy attached to Pelipper. Wing Attack is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Lightning +20. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It is a messenger of the skies, carrying small Pokémon and eggs to safety in its bill."

I keep a set binder for Arceus, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Arceus set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Pelipper can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
