Pelipper 19/108 · Roaring Skies

Roaring Skies is a set in the XY series. It was released on May 6, 2015. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 112 cards. Pelipper is 19/108, in position 19 of 112 on this checklist. Before it is 18 Wingull, and after it is 20 Pikachu. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Pelipper is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Pelipper (#279), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Wingull. In this catalog that name is Wingull (#278).

Midori Harada illustrated this card. The same name is on 352 other cards in the catalog.

Pelipper (#279) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Pelipper 19/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Midori Harada illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 14 other cards of Pelipper list a different HP.

The attack Swallow lists 30 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. Heal from this Pokémon the same amount of damage you did to your opponent's Active Pokémon. Water Pulse is another attack lists 70 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Asleep. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It is a messenger of the skies, carrying small Pokémon and eggs to safety in its bill."

I keep a set binder for Roaring Skies, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Roaring Skies set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Pelipper can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
