Wishiwashi 44/149 · Sun & Moon

Sun & Moon is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 149. This checklist is longer, at 173 cards. Wishiwashi is 44/149, in position 44 of 173 on this checklist. Before it is 43 Crabominable, and after it is 45 Dewpider. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Wishiwashi is a Basic Water Pokémon with 30 HP. In the Pokédex this is Wishiwashi (#746), generation 7 (Alola).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Wishiwashi (#746) has 11 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 6 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2026. The earliest other card is Wishiwashi 37/145 in Guardians Rising (2017). Both list 30 HP. The rarity there is Common, and here it is Uncommon. Sanosuke Sakuma illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 6 other cards of Wishiwashi list a different HP.

Cowardice is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may discard all cards attached to this Pokémon and return it to your hand. You can't use this Ability during your first turn or on the turn this Pokémon was put into play. The attack Water Gun lists 10 damage. The cost is Water. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "When it's in trouble, its eyes moisten and begin to shine. The shining light attracts its comrades, and they stand together against their enemies."

I keep a set binder for Sun & Moon, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Sun & Moon set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Wishiwashi can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
