Sharpedo 82/149 · Sun & Moon

Sun & Moon is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 149. This checklist is longer, at 173 cards. Sharpedo is 82/149, in position 82 of 173 on this checklist. Before it is 81 Carvanha, and after it is 83 Sandile. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Sharpedo is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon with 110 HP. In the Pokédex this is Sharpedo (#319), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Carvanha. In this catalog that name is Carvanha (#318).

Yumi illustrated this card. The same name is on 24 other cards in the catalog.

Sharpedo (#319) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Sharpedo 22/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Rare Holo. Hajime Kusajima illustrated that card, and Yumi illustrated this one. 23 other cards of Sharpedo list a different HP.

Rough Skin is listed as Ability. If this Pokémon is your Active Pokémon and is damaged by an opponent's attack (even if this Pokémon is Knocked Out), put 3 damage counters on the Attacking Pokémon. The attack Aqua Impact lists 60+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 20 more damage for each Colorless in your opponent's Active Pokémon's Retreat Cost. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. The flavor text reads "It has a sad history. In the past, its dorsal fin was a treasured foodstuff, so this Pokémon became a victim of overfishing."

I keep a set binder for Sun & Moon, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Sun & Moon set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Sharpedo can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
