Malamar 119/214 · Unbroken Bonds

Malamar is Pokédex #687, generation 6 (Kalos). Malamar is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Inkay. In this catalog that name is Inkay (#686).

Malamar sits at 119/214 in Unbroken Bonds, position 119 of 238. Before it is 118 Inkay, and after it is 120 Lucario & Melmetal-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on May 3, 2019. The printed size is 214. This checklist is longer, at 238 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Hypnotic Reign lists no damage number. The cost is Darkness. Your opponent reveals their hand. You may discard a Pokémon you find there and use one of that Pokémon's non-GX attacks as this attack. Dark Pressure is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Discard the top card of your opponent's deck. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "When it comes to strong hypnosis, there's an endless number of people who utilize Malamar for their nefarious deeds."

Malamar (#687) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2013 to 2026. The earliest other card is Malamar XY58/211 in XY Black Star Promos (2013). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Yusuke Ohmura illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 18 other cards of Malamar list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Yusuke Ohmura. I count 60 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Unbroken Bonds set binder is where a full Unbroken Bonds set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Malamar can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). I still need this card.
