Dewgong 45/214 · Unbroken Bonds

Dewgong is Pokédex #087, generation 1 (Kanto). Dewgong is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 120 HP. The card says it evolves from Seel. In this catalog that name is Seel (#086).

Dewgong sits at 45/214 in Unbroken Bonds, position 45 of 238. Before it is 44 Seel, and after it is 46 Krabby. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on May 3, 2019. The printed size is 214. This checklist is longer, at 238 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Tail Whap lists 60 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Dual Blizzard is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon. This attack does 60 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It swims through the ocean at a speed of eight knots, searching for Pokémon that will become its prey. It's especially fond of Wishiwashi."

Dewgong (#087) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Dewgong 25/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 15 other cards of Dewgong list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kagemaru Himeno. I count 656 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Unbroken Bonds set binder is where a full Unbroken Bonds set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dewgong can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
