Cosmoem 101/236 · Cosmic Eclipse

Cosmic Eclipse is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on November 1, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 272 cards. Cosmoem is 101/236, in position 101 of 272 on this checklist. Before it is 100 Cosmog, and after it is 102 Lunala. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Cosmoem is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Cosmoem (#790), generation 7 (Alola). The card says it evolves from Cosmog. In this catalog that name is Cosmog (#789). The card lists Solgaleo, Solgaleo (#791) and Lunala, Lunala (#792) under evolves to.

Aya Kusube illustrated this card. The same name is on 127 other cards in the catalog.

Cosmoem (#790) has 5 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 5 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2026. The earliest other card is Cosmoem 65/149 in Sun & Moon (2017). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Sanosuke Sakuma illustrated that card, and Aya Kusube illustrated this one. 2 other cards of Cosmoem list a different HP.

The attack Stiffen lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. During your opponent's next turn, this Pokémon takes 40 less damage from attacks (after applying Weakness and Resistance). Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "The king who ruled Alola in times of antiquity called it the "cocoon of the stars" and built an altar to worship it."

I keep a set binder for Cosmic Eclipse, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Cosmic Eclipse set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Cosmoem can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). I still need this card.
