Absol 133/236 · Cosmic Eclipse

Absol is Pokédex #359, generation 3 (Hoenn). Absol is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP.

Absol sits at 133/236 in Cosmic Eclipse, position 133 of 272. Before it is 132 Carvanha, and after it is 134 Pawniard. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on November 1, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 272 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Ominous News lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Discard a Special Energy from 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. Dirty Throw is another attack lists 70 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Discard a card from your hand. If you can't discard a card, this attack does nothing. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "The only thing unlucky about Absol is its appearance. It protects fields and warns people of disaster, so one ought to be grateful for it."

Absol (#359) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Absol 1/97 in Dragon (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Naoyo Kimura illustrated that card, and Mizue illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Absol list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mizue. I count 184 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Cosmic Eclipse set binder is where a full Cosmic Eclipse set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Absol can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
