Rapidash 24/236 · Cosmic Eclipse

Cosmic Eclipse is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on November 1, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 272 cards. Rapidash is 24/236, in position 24 of 272 on this checklist. Before it is 23 Ponyta, and after it is 25 Flareon. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Rapidash is a Stage 1 Fire Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Rapidash (#078), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Ponyta. In this catalog that name is Ponyta (#077).

Misa Tsutsui illustrated this card. The same name is on 94 other cards in the catalog.

Rapidash (#078) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 28 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Rapidash 44/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Misa Tsutsui illustrated this one. 26 other cards of Rapidash list a different HP.

The attack Overrun lists 30 damage. The cost is Fire. This attack does 30 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Flame Tail is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Fire, Colorless. Weakness is Water ×2. The flavor text reads "Very competitive, this Pokémon will chase anything that moves fast in the hopes of racing it."

I keep a set binder for Cosmic Eclipse, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Cosmic Eclipse set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rapidash can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
