Sunflora 8/236 · Cosmic Eclipse

Cosmic Eclipse is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on November 1, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 272 cards. Sunflora is 8/236, in position 8 of 272 on this checklist. Before it is 7 Sunkern, and after it is 9 Heracross. The listed rarity is Rare.

Sunflora is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Sunflora (#192), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Sunkern. In this catalog that name is Sunkern (#191).

Yumi illustrated this card. The same name is on 24 other cards in the catalog.

Sunflora (#192) has 10 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Sunflora 50/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Yumi illustrated this one. 8 other cards of Sunflora list a different HP.

The attack Solar Power lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. During your next turn, ignore all Energy in the attack costs of Grass Pokémon and Fire Pokémon. (This includes Pokémon that come into play on that turn.) Solar Beam is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "As the hot season approaches, the petals on this Pokémon's face become more vivid and lively."

I keep a set binder for Cosmic Eclipse, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Cosmic Eclipse set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Sunflora can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
