Mimikyu 97/236 · Cosmic Eclipse

Cosmic Eclipse is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on November 1, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 272 cards. Mimikyu is 97/236, in position 97 of 272 on this checklist. Before it is 96 Mimikyu, and after it is 98 Dhelmise. The listed rarity is Rare.

Mimikyu is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 70 HP. In the Pokédex this is Mimikyu (#778), generation 7 (Alola).

Yuka Morii illustrated this card. The same name is on 204 other cards in the catalog.

Mimikyu (#778) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mimikyu SM29/248 in SM Black Star Promos (2017). Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Yuka Morii illustrated this one. 18 other cards of Mimikyu list a different HP.

Shadow Box is listed as Ability. Pokémon-GX that have any damage counters on them (both yours and your opponent's) have no Abilities. The attack Tail Trickery lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Although it's a quiet, lonely Pokémon, if you try to look at what's under its rag, it will become agitated and resist violently."

I keep a set binder for Cosmic Eclipse, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Cosmic Eclipse set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mimikyu can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). Themed lists that include this exact card are Yuka Morii clay cards. I still need this card.
