Raikou 32/73 · Shining Legends

Shining Legends is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on October 6, 2017. The printed size is 73. This checklist is longer, at 81 cards. Raikou is 32/73, in position 33 of 81 on this checklist. Before it is 31 Electrode, and after it is 33 Plusle. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Raikou is a Basic Lightning Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Raikou (#243), generation 2 (Johto).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Raikou (#243) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Raikou 13/64 in Neo Revelation (2001). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 22 other cards of Raikou list a different HP.

The attack Booming Thunder lists 30 damage. The cost is Lightning. Attach a Lightning Energy card from your discard pile to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Electric Ball is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Metal -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "The rain clouds it carries let it fire thunderbolts at will. They say that it descended with lightning."

I keep a set binder for Shining Legends, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Shining Legends set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Raikou can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
