Shining Rayquaza 56/73 · Shining Legends

Shining Legends is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on October 6, 2017. The printed size is 73. This checklist is longer, at 81 cards. Shining Rayquaza is 56/73, in position 57 of 81 on this checklist. Before it is 55 Hoopa, and after it is 57 Shining Arceus. The listed rarity is Rare Shining.

Shining Rayquaza is a Basic Dragon Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Rayquaza (#384), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Naoki Saito illustrated this card. The same name is on 270 other cards in the catalog.

Rayquaza (#384) has 59 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 30 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Rayquaza ex 39/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Rayquaza ex, while this one is Shining Rayquaza. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Shining. Ryo Ueda illustrated that card, and Naoki Saito illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 3. 49 other cards of Rayquaza list a different HP.

The attack Dragon Pulse lists 40 damage. The cost is Lightning. Discard the top 2 cards of your deck. Sky Judgment is another attack lists 190 damage. The cost is Fire, Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Discard 3 Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Fairy ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It lives in the ozone layer far above the clouds and cannot be seen from the ground."

I keep a set binder for Shining Legends, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Shining Legends set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rayquaza can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza and All Rayquaza cards. I still need this card.
