Houndoom 59/111 · Crimson Invasion

Houndoom is Pokédex #229, generation 2 (Johto). Houndoom is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Houndour. In this catalog that name is Houndour (#228).

Houndoom sits at 59/111 in Crimson Invasion, position 59 of 126. Before it is 58 Houndour, and after it is 60 Deino. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on November 3, 2017. The printed size is 111. This checklist is longer, at 126 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Fire Fang lists 30 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Burned. Puncturing Fangs is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. This attack's damage isn't affected by Resistance. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Long ago, people imagined its eerie howls to be the call of the grim reaper."

Houndoom (#229) has 44 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2025. The earliest other card is Houndoom 4/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Shin-ichi Yoshida illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. 42 other cards of Houndoom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shin Nagasawa. I count 303 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Crimson Invasion set binder is where a full Crimson Invasion set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Houndoom can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
