Alolan Exeggutor 2a/131 · Forbidden Light

Forbidden Light is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on May 4, 2018. The printed size is 131. This checklist is longer, at 150 cards. Alolan Exeggutor is 2a/131, in position 3 of 150 on this checklist. Before it is 2 Alolan Exeggutor, and after it is 3 Snover. The listed rarity is Rare.

Alolan Exeggutor is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 160 HP. In the Pokédex this is Exeggutor (#103), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Exeggcute. In this catalog that name is Exeggcute (#102).

kawayoo illustrated this card. The same name is on 209 other cards in the catalog.

Exeggutor (#103) has 49 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 33 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Exeggutor 35/64 in Jungle (1999). That card is named Exeggutor, while this one is Alolan Exeggutor. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 160 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and kawayoo illustrated this one. 45 other cards of Exeggutor list a different HP.

The attack Tropical Shake lists 20+ damage. The cost is Grass. This attack does 20 more damage for each type of basic Energy card in your discard pile. You can't add more than 100 damage in this way. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "As it grew taller and taller, it outgrew its reliance on psychic powers, while within it awakened the power of the sleeping dragon."

I keep a set binder for Forbidden Light, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Forbidden Light set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Exeggutor can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
