Swampert 35/168 · Celestial Storm

Celestial Storm is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 3, 2018. The printed size is 168. This checklist is longer, at 187 cards. Swampert is 35/168, in position 36 of 187 on this checklist. Before it is 34 Marshtomp, and after it is 36 Lotad. The listed rarity is Rare.

Swampert is a Stage 2 Water Pokémon with 160 HP. In the Pokédex this is Swampert (#260), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Marshtomp. In this catalog that name is Marshtomp (#259).

SATOSHI NAKAI illustrated this card. The same name is on 58 other cards in the catalog.

Swampert (#260) has 14 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 10 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2021. The earliest other card is Swampert 13/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 110 HP, and this one lists 160 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and SATOSHI NAKAI illustrated this one. 14 other cards of Swampert list a different HP.

Power Draw is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may discard a card from your hand. If you do, draw 3 cards. The attack Hydro Pump lists 80+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 20 more damage times the amount of Water Energy attached to this Pokémon. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It can swim while towing a large ship. It bashes down foes with a swing of its thick arms."

I keep a set binder for Celestial Storm, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Celestial Storm set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Swampert can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
