Gyarados 20/70 · Dragon Majesty

Gyarados is Pokédex #130, generation 1 (Kanto). Gyarados is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 160 HP. The card says it evolves from Magikarp. In this catalog that name is Magikarp (#129).

Gyarados sits at 20/70 in Dragon Majesty, position 20 of 80. Before it is 19 Magikarp, and after it is 21 Lapras. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on September 7, 2018. The printed size is 70. This checklist is longer, at 80 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Commotion is listed as Ability. If this Pokémon is your Active Pokémon and is damaged by an opponent's attack (even if this Pokémon is Knocked Out), put 2 damage counters on each of your Benched Pokémon. The attack Wild Tail lists 160 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. You may discard any Stadium card in play. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "There are people who swear that any place Gyarados appears is fated for destruction."

Gyarados (#130) has 56 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 38 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Gyarados 6/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 160 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and kawayoo illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 4. 56 other cards of Gyarados list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads kawayoo. I count 209 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Dragon Majesty set binder is where a full Dragon Majesty set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Gyarados can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Magikarp and Gyarados. I still need this card.
