Absol 88/181 · Team Up

Team Up is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 1, 2019. The printed size is 181. This checklist is longer, at 198 cards. Absol is 88/181, in position 88 of 198 on this checklist. Before it is 87 Mightyena, and after it is 89 Spiritomb. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Absol is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Absol (#359), generation 3 (Hoenn).

nagimiso illustrated this card. The same name is on 156 other cards in the catalog.

Absol (#359) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Absol 1/97 in Dragon (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Naoyo Kimura illustrated that card, and nagimiso illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Absol list a different HP.

Dark Ambition is listed as Ability. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is a Basic Pokémon, its Retreat Cost is Colorless more. The attack Shadow Seeker lists 30+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 30 more damage for each Colorless in your opponent's Active Pokémon's Retreat Cost. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Although it's said to bring disaster, in actuality, this Pokémon possesses a calm disposition and warns people of any crises that loom."

I keep a set binder for Team Up, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Team Up set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Absol can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
