Metang SV31/94 · Hidden Fates Shiny Vault

Metang is Pokédex #375, generation 3 (Hoenn). Metang is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Beldum. In this catalog that name is Beldum (#374). The card lists Metagross, Metagross (#376) under evolves to.

Metang sits at SV31/94 in Hidden Fates Shiny Vault, position 31 of 94. Before it is SV30 Beldum, and after it is SV32 Celesteela. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 23, 2019. The printed size is 94, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Shiny.

The attack Ram lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless. Core Beam is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Metal, Metal, Colorless. Discard a Metal Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "When two Beldum link together, their psychic power is doubled. Their intelligence, however, remains unchanged."

Metang (#375) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Metang 23/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Shiny. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Saya Tsuruta illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 22 other cards of Metang list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Saya Tsuruta. I count 123 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Hidden Fates Shiny Vault set binder is where a full Hidden Fates Shiny Vault set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Metang can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Saya Tsuruta cards. I still need this card.
