Charizard-GX SM211/248 · SM Black Star Promos

Charizard is Pokédex #006, generation 1 (Kanto). Charizard-GX is a Stage 2 GX Fire Pokémon with 250 HP. The card says it evolves from Charmeleon. In this catalog that name is Charmeleon (#005).

Charizard-GX sits at SM211/248 in SM Black Star Promos, position 214 of 251. Before it is SM210 Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX, and after it is SM212 Gyarados-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Flamethrower lists 140 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless, Colorless. Flare Blitz-GX is another attack lists 300 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless, Colorless. (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.) Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: Pokémon-GX rule: When your Pokémon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Charizard (#006) has 106 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 51 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Charizard 4/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Charizard, while this one is Charizard-GX. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 250 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and aky CG Works illustrated this one. 100 other cards of Charizard list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads aky CG Works. I count 163 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SM Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SM Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Charizard can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are All Charizard cards. I still need this card.
