Shining Lugia SM82/248 · SM Black Star Promos

Lugia is Pokédex #249, generation 2 (Johto). Shining Lugia is a Basic Colorless Pokémon with 130 HP.

Shining Lugia sits at SM82/248 in SM Black Star Promos, position 83 of 251. Before it is SM81 Pikachu, and after it is SM83 Zorua. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Argent Wing lists 60+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon has an Ability, this attack does 60 more damage. Aero Force is another attack lists 130 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Discard an Energy attached to this Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It sleeps in a deep-sea trench. If it flaps its wings, it is said to cause a 40-day storm."

Lugia (#249) has 38 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 25 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Lugia 9/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Lugia, while this one is Shining Lugia. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Hironobu Yoshida illustrated that card, and Hitoshi Ariga illustrated this one. 31 other cards of Lugia list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Hitoshi Ariga. I count 155 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SM Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SM Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Lugia can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are All Lugia cards. I still need this card.
