Espeon 86/197 · Obsidian Flames

Espeon is Pokédex #196, generation 2 (Johto). Espeon is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Eevee. In this catalog that name is Eevee (#133).

Espeon sits at 86/197 in Obsidian Flames, position 86 of 230. Before it is 85 Togekiss, and after it is 87 Snubbull. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on August 11, 2023. The printed size is 197. This checklist is longer, at 230 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Psychic Assault lists 30+ damage. The cost is Psychic. This attack does 10 more damage for each damage counter on your opponent's Active Pokémon. Psy Bolt is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "The tip of its forked tail quivers when it is predicting its opponent's next move." The regulation mark is G.

Espeon (#196) has 39 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 25 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Espeon 1/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Cona Nitanda illustrated this one. 35 other cards of Espeon list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Cona Nitanda. I count 11 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Obsidian Flames set binder is where a full Obsidian Flames set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Espeon can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I still need this card.
