Baxcalibur 130/91 · Paldean Fates

Baxcalibur is Pokédex #998, generation 9 (Paldea). Baxcalibur is a Stage 2 Water Pokémon with 160 HP. The card says it evolves from Arctibax. In this catalog that name is Arctibax (#997).

Baxcalibur sits at 130/91 in Paldean Fates, position 130 of 245. Before it is 129 Arctibax, and after it is 131 Pikachu. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on January 26, 2024. The printed size is 91. This checklist is longer, at 245 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 91. The listed rarity is Shiny Rare.

Super Cold is listed as Ability. As often as you like during your turn, you may attach a Basic Water Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Pokémon. The attack Buster Tail lists 130 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "This Pokémon blasts cryogenic air out from its mouth. This air can instantly freeze even liquid-hot lava." The regulation mark is G.

Baxcalibur (#998) has 3 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 2 sets. The other dated printings are from 2023. The earliest other card is Baxcalibur 19/102 in Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos (2023). Both list 160 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Shiny Rare. Oswaldo KATO illustrated that card, and GOSSAN illustrated this one.

The illustrator line reads GOSSAN. I count 57 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Paldean Fates set binder is where a full Paldean Fates set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Baxcalibur can fill a slot in Generation 9 binder (Paldea). Themed lists that include this exact card are Winter: Ice Pokémon and Pseudo-legendary lines. I still need this card.
