Kingambit 187/91 · Paldean Fates

Kingambit is Pokédex #983, generation 9 (Paldea). Kingambit is a Stage 2 Darkness Pokémon with 170 HP. The card says it evolves from Bisharp. In this catalog that name is Bisharp (#625).

Kingambit sits at 187/91 in Paldean Fates, position 187 of 245. Before it is 186 Bisharp, and after it is 188 Mabosstiff. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on January 26, 2024. The printed size is 91. This checklist is longer, at 245 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 91. The listed rarity is Shiny Rare.

Leadership is listed as Ability. Your Basic Pokémon's attacks do 30 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Hack At lists 160 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Only a Bisharp that stands above all others in its vast army can evolve into Kingambit." The regulation mark is G.

Kingambit (#983) has 6 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 4 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2023 to 2026. The earliest other card is Kingambit 113/102 in Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos (2023). Both list 170 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Shiny Rare. nagimiso illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. The regulation mark there is H, and here it is G. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 2 other cards of Kingambit list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shin Nagasawa. I count 303 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Paldean Fates set binder is where a full Paldean Fates set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kingambit can fill a slot in Generation 9 binder (Paldea). I still need this card.
