Scolipede 117/167 · Twilight Masquerade

Scolipede is Pokédex #545, generation 5 (Unova). Scolipede is a Stage 2 Darkness Pokémon with 170 HP. The card says it evolves from Whirlipede. In this catalog that name is Whirlipede (#544).

Scolipede sits at 117/167 in Twilight Masquerade, position 117 of 226. Before it is 116 Whirlipede, and after it is 118 Brute Bonnet. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on May 24, 2024. The printed size is 167. This checklist is longer, at 226 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Dastardly Jab lists no damage number. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Put damage counters on your opponent's Active Pokémon until its remaining HP is 10. Sludge Bomb is another attack lists 160 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Scolipede latches on to its prey with the claws on its neck before slamming them into the ground and jabbing them with its claws' toxic spikes." The regulation mark is H.

Scolipede (#545) has 8 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Scolipede 54/114 in Black & White (2011). That card lists 150 HP, and this one lists 170 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Masakazu Fukuda illustrated that card, and Shiburingaru illustrated this one. 8 other cards of Scolipede list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shiburingaru. I count 35 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Twilight Masquerade set binder is where a full Twilight Masquerade set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Scolipede can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
