Infernape 173/167 · Twilight Masquerade

Infernape is Pokédex #392, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Infernape is a Stage 2 Fire Pokémon with 140 HP. The card says it evolves from Monferno. In this catalog that name is Monferno (#391).

Infernape sits at 173/167 in Twilight Masquerade, position 173 of 226. Before it is 172 Torkoal, and after it is 174 Froslass. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on May 24, 2024. The printed size is 167. This checklist is longer, at 226 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 167. The listed rarity is Illustration Rare.

Pyro Dance is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may attach a Basic Fire Energy card, a Basic Fighting Energy card, or 1 of each from your hand to your Pokémon in any way you like. The attack Scorching Fire lists 200 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless. Discard an Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its crown of fire is indicative of its fiery nature. It is beaten by none in terms of quickness." The regulation mark is H.

Infernape (#392) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2024. The earliest other card is Infernape 5/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Illustration Rare. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and Krgc illustrated this one. 14 other cards of Infernape list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Krgc. I count 8 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Twilight Masquerade set binder is where a full Twilight Masquerade set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Infernape can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
