Ninetales 27/167 · Twilight Masquerade

Ninetales is Pokédex #038, generation 1 (Kanto). Ninetales is a Stage 1 Fire Pokémon with 120 HP. The card says it evolves from Vulpix. In this catalog that name is Vulpix (#037).

Ninetales sits at 27/167 in Twilight Masquerade, position 27 of 226. Before it is 26 Vulpix, and after it is 28 Slugma. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on May 24, 2024. The printed size is 167. This checklist is longer, at 226 cards. The listed rarity is Common.

The attack Eerie Glow lists 90 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Burned and Confused. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It has nine long tails and fur that gleams gold. It is said to live for 1,000 years." The regulation mark is H.

Ninetales (#038) has 55 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 40 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Ninetales 12/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Common. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and KEIICHIRO ITO illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 47 other cards of Ninetales list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads KEIICHIRO ITO. I count 50 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Twilight Masquerade set binder is where a full Twilight Masquerade set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Ninetales can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
