Butterfree 3/159 · Journey Together

Journey Together is a set in the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on March 28, 2025. The printed size is 159. This checklist is longer, at 190 cards. Butterfree is 3/159, in position 3 of 190 on this checklist. Before it is 2 Metapod, and after it is 4 Paras. The listed rarity is Rare.

Butterfree is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Butterfree (#012), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Metapod. In this catalog that name is Metapod (#011).

Butterfree (#012) has 24 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Butterfree 33/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. 20 other cards of Butterfree list a different HP.

The attack Scale Hurricane lists 60× damage. The cost is Grass. Flip 4 coins. This attack does 60 damage for each heads. If at least 2 of them are heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The regulation mark is I.

I keep a set binder for Journey Together, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Journey Together set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Butterfree can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Bug Pokémon. I still need this card.
