Morpeko V 79/202 · Sword & Shield

Morpeko is Pokédex #877, generation 8 (Galar). Morpeko V is a Basic V Lightning Pokémon with 170 HP.

Morpeko V sits at 79/202 in Sword & Shield, position 79 of 216. Before it is 78 Morpeko, and after it is 80 Morpeko VMAX. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on February 7, 2020. The printed size is 202. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo V.

The attack Spark lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless. This attack also does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Electro Wheel is another attack lists 150 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Discard an Energy from this Pokémon. If you do, switch it with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is D.

Morpeko (#877) has 36 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2019 to 2026. The earliest other card is Morpeko SWSH012/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos (2019). That card is named Morpeko, while this one is Morpeko V. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 170 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo V. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 33 other cards of Morpeko list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Sword & Shield set binder is where a full Sword & Shield set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Morpeko can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). I still need this card.
