Galarian Rapidash 82/202 · Sword & Shield

Rapidash is Pokédex #078, generation 1 (Kanto). Galarian Rapidash is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Galarian Ponyta. In this catalog that name is Ponyta (#077).

Galarian Rapidash sits at 82/202 in Sword & Shield, position 82 of 216. Before it is 81 Galarian Ponyta, and after it is 83 Gastly. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on February 7, 2020. The printed size is 202. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

Pastel Veil is listed as Ability. Your Pokémon recover from all Special Conditions and can't be affected by any Special Conditions. The attack Psychic lists 30+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. This attack does 30 more damage for each Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokémon. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Brave and prideful, this Pokémon dashes airily through the forest, its steps aided by the psychic power stored in the fur on its fetlocks." The regulation mark is D.

Rapidash (#078) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 28 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Rapidash 44/64 in Jungle (1999). That card is named Rapidash, while this one is Galarian Rapidash. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and You Iribi illustrated this one. 26 other cards of Rapidash list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads You Iribi. I count 50 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Sword & Shield set binder is where a full Sword & Shield set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rapidash can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Galarian forms. I still need this card.
