Absol 97/189 · Astral Radiance

Absol is Pokédex #359, generation 3 (Hoenn). Absol is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP.

Absol sits at 97/189 in Astral Radiance, position 97 of 216. Before it is 96 Mightyena, and after it is 98 Darkrai V. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on May 27, 2022. The printed size is 189. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Swirling Disaster lists no damage number. The cost is Darkness. This attack does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Claw Rend is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon already has any damage counters on it, this attack does 70 more damage. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Swift as the wind, Absol races through fields and mountains. Its curved, bow-like horn is acutely sensitive to the warning signs of natural disasters." The regulation mark is F.

Absol (#359) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Absol 1/97 in Dragon (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Naoyo Kimura illustrated that card, and GIDORA illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Absol list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads GIDORA. I count 60 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Astral Radiance set binder is where a full Astral Radiance set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Absol can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
