Malamar 78/196 · Lost Origin

Malamar is Pokédex #687, generation 6 (Kalos). Malamar is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Inkay. In this catalog that name is Inkay (#686).

Malamar sits at 78/196 in Lost Origin, position 78 of 217. Before it is 77 Inkay, and after it is 79 Comfey. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on September 9, 2022. The printed size is 196. This checklist is longer, at 217 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Synchro Kinesis lists 30+ damage. The cost is Psychic. Each player reveals their hand. If a card in your opponent's hand has the same name as a card in your hand, this attack does 90 more damage. Psychic Sphere is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Gazing at its luminescent spots will quickly induce a hypnotic state, putting the observer under Malamar's control." The regulation mark is F.

Malamar (#687) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2013 to 2026. The earliest other card is Malamar XY58/211 in XY Black Star Promos (2013). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Tomokazu Komiya illustrated this one. 21 other cards of Malamar list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Tomokazu Komiya. I count 248 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Lost Origin set binder is where a full Lost Origin set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Malamar can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). I still need this card.
