Talonflame 29/195 · Silver Tempest

Silver Tempest is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on November 11, 2022. The printed size is 195. This checklist is longer, at 215 cards. Talonflame is 29/195, in position 29 of 215 on this checklist. Before it is 28 Fletchinder, and after it is 30 Litten. The listed rarity is Rare.

Talonflame is a Stage 2 Fire Pokémon with 140 HP. In the Pokédex this is Talonflame (#663), generation 6 (Kalos). The card says it evolves from Fletchinder. In this catalog that name is Fletchinder (#662).

KEIICHIRO ITO illustrated this card. The same name is on 50 other cards in the catalog.

Talonflame (#663) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2014 to 2026. The earliest other card is Talonflame 28/146 in XY (2014). That card lists 130 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and KEIICHIRO ITO illustrated this one. 12 other cards of Talonflame list a different HP.

The attack Quick Dive lists no damage number. The cost is Fire. This attack does 50 damage to 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Merciless Strike is another attack lists 80+ damage. The cost is Fire. If your opponent's Active Pokémon already has any damage counters on it, this attack does 80 more damage. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Talonflame mainly preys upon other bird Pokémon. To intimidate opponents, it sends embers spewing from gaps between its feathers." The regulation mark is F.

I keep a set binder for Silver Tempest, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Silver Tempest set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Talonflame can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). I still need this card.
