Metagross VMAX 113/198 · Chilling Reign

Metagross is Pokédex #376, generation 3 (Hoenn). Metagross VMAX is a VMAX Rapid Strike Metal Pokémon with 330 HP. The card says it evolves from Metagross V. In this catalog that name is Metagross (#376).

Metagross VMAX sits at 113/198 in Chilling Reign, position 113 of 233. Before it is 112 Metagross V, and after it is 114 Cobalion. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on June 18, 2021. The printed size is 198. This checklist is longer, at 233 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo VMAX.

The attack Zap Traction lists no damage number. The cost is Metal. Search your deck for up to 2 cards and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck. Max Rush is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless. During your next turn, this Pokémon's Max Rush attack does 150 more damage. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Grass -30. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: VMAX rule: When your Pokémon VMAX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards. The regulation mark is E.

Metagross (#376) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Metagross 11/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card is named Metagross, while this one is Metagross VMAX. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 330 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo VMAX. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Ryota Murayama illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 32 other cards of Metagross list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ryota Murayama. I count 55 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Chilling Reign set binder is where a full Chilling Reign set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Metagross can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are VMAX cards and Rapid Strike. I still need this card.
