Galarian Zapdos 82/203 · Evolving Skies

Zapdos is Pokédex #145, generation 1 (Kanto). Galarian Zapdos is a Basic Fighting Pokémon with 110 HP.

Galarian Zapdos sits at 82/203 in Evolving Skies, position 82 of 237. Before it is 81 Hitmonchan, and after it is 83 Medicham V. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on August 27, 2021. The printed size is 203. This checklist is longer, at 237 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Strong Legs Charge is listed as Ability. When you play this Pokémon from your hand onto your Bench during your turn, you may attach up to 2 Fighting Energy cards from your hand to this Pokémon. The attack Zapper Kick lists 70 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless. You may discard all Energy from this Pokémon. If you do, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Weakness is Psychic ×2. The flavor text reads "One kick from its powerful legs will pulverize a dump truck. Supposedly, this Pokémon runs through the mountains at over 180 mph." The regulation mark is E.

Zapdos (#145) has 49 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 34 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Zapdos 16/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Zapdos, while this one is Galarian Zapdos. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and kodama illustrated this one. 41 other cards of Zapdos list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads kodama. I count 86 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Evolving Skies set binder is where a full Evolving Skies set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Zapdos can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Legendary birds and Galarian forms. I still need this card.
