Electrode 88/264 · Fusion Strike

Fusion Strike is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on November 12, 2021. The printed size is 264. This checklist is longer, at 284 cards. Electrode is 88/264, in position 88 of 284 on this checklist. Before it is 87 Voltorb, and after it is 89 Plusle. The listed rarity is Rare.

Electrode is a Stage 1 Single Strike Lightning Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Electrode (#101), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Voltorb. In this catalog that name is Voltorb (#100).

Kouki Saitou illustrated this card. The same name is on 652 other cards in the catalog.

Electrode (#101) has 45 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 39 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Electrode 21/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Keiji Kinebuchi illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. 27 other cards of Electrode list a different HP.

The attack Sonic Boom lists 40 damage. The cost is Colorless. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness or Resistance. Explosion is another attack lists 120 damage. The cost is Colorless. This Pokémon also does 90 damage to itself. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It stores an overflowing amount of electric energy inside its body. Even a small shock makes it explode." The regulation mark is E.

I keep a set binder for Fusion Strike, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Fusion Strike set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Electrode can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
