Infernape 26/172 · Brilliant Stars

Infernape is Pokédex #392, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Infernape is a Stage 2 Fire Pokémon with 150 HP. The card says it evolves from Monferno. In this catalog that name is Monferno (#391).

Infernape sits at 26/172 in Brilliant Stars, position 26 of 186. Before it is 25 Monferno, and after it is 27 Simisear V. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on February 25, 2022. The printed size is 172. This checklist is longer, at 186 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Infernal Vortex lists 80× damage. The cost is Fire. Reveal the top 5 cards of your deck. This attack does 80 damage for each Energy card you find there. Then, discard those Energy cards and shuffle the other cards back into your deck. Burning Kick is another attack lists 160 damage. The cost is Fire, Colorless. Discard all Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It tosses its enemies around with agility. It uses all its limbs to fight in its own unique style." The regulation mark is F.

Infernape (#392) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2024. The earliest other card is Infernape 5/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 150 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and Anesaki Dynamic illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Infernape list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Anesaki Dynamic. I count 134 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Brilliant Stars set binder is where a full Brilliant Stars set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Infernape can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
