Raikou V 48/172 · Brilliant Stars

Raikou is Pokédex #243, generation 2 (Johto). Raikou V is a Basic V Lightning Pokémon with 200 HP.

Raikou V sits at 48/172 in Brilliant Stars, position 48 of 186. Before it is 47 Electivire, and after it is 49 Shinx. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on February 25, 2022. The printed size is 172. This checklist is longer, at 186 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo V.

Fleet-Footed is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, if this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, you may draw a card. The attack Lightning Rondo lists 20+ damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless. This attack does 20 more damage for each Benched Pokémon (both yours and your opponent's). Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

Raikou (#243) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Raikou 13/64 in Neo Revelation (2001). That card is named Raikou, while this one is Raikou V. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 200 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo V. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and PLANETA Mochizuki illustrated this one. 25 other cards of Raikou list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads PLANETA Mochizuki. I count 131 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Brilliant Stars set binder is where a full Brilliant Stars set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Raikou can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Legendary beasts. I still need this card.
