Octillery TG03/30 · Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery

Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on February 25, 2022. The printed size is 30, and the checklist is the same length. Octillery is TG03/30, in position 3 of 30 on this checklist. Before it is TG02 Vaporeon, and after it is TG04 Jolteon. The listed rarity is Trainer Gallery Rare Holo.

Octillery is a Stage 1 Rapid Strike Water Pokémon with 110 HP. In the Pokédex this is Octillery (#224), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Remoraid. In this catalog that name is Remoraid (#223).

Shinya Komatsu illustrated this card. The same name is on 17 other cards in the catalog.

Octillery (#224) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Octillery 34/64 in Neo Revelation (2001). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Trainer Gallery Rare Holo. Tomokazu Komiya illustrated that card, and Shinya Komatsu illustrated this one. 12 other cards of Octillery list a different HP.

Rapid Strike Search is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may search your deck for a Rapid Strike card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck. You can't use more than 1 Rapid Strike Search Ability each turn. The attack Waterfall lists 50 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It traps enemies with its suction-cupped tentacles, then smashes them with its rock-hard head." The regulation mark is E.

I keep a set binder for Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Octillery can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer Gallery and Rapid Strike. I still need this card.
