Galarian Obstagoon SWSH193/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

SWSH Black Star Promos is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on November 15, 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. Galarian Obstagoon is SWSH193/307, in position 193 of 304 on this checklist. Before it is SWSH192 Glaceon, and after it is SWSH194 Leafeon V. The listed rarity is Promo.

Galarian Obstagoon is a Stage 2 Darkness Pokémon with 170 HP. In the Pokédex this is Obstagoon (#862), generation 8 (Galar). The card says it evolves from Galarian Linoone. In this catalog that name is Linoone (#264).

Megumi Higuchi illustrated this card. The same name is on 17 other cards in the catalog.

Obstagoon (#862) has 9 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 8 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2019 to 2026. The earliest other card is Galarian Obstagoon SWSH059/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos (2019). That card lists 160 HP, and this one lists 170 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Hasuno illustrated that card, and Megumi Higuchi illustrated this one. The regulation mark there is D, and here it is E. 5 other cards of Obstagoon list a different HP.

The attack Rampaging Kick lists 180 damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. Discard 2 Darkness Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It evolved after experiencing numerous fights. While crossing its arms, it lets out a shout that would make any opponent flinch." The regulation mark is E.

I keep a set binder for SWSH Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the SWSH Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Obstagoon can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). Themed lists that include this exact card are Galarian forms. I still need this card.
