Infernape 20/114 · Steam Siege

Steam Siege is a set in the XY series. It was released on August 3, 2016. The printed size is 114. This checklist is longer, at 116 cards. Infernape is 20/114, in position 20 of 116 on this checklist. Before it is 19 Monferno, and after it is 21 Talonflame BREAK. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Infernape is a Stage 2 Fire Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Infernape (#392), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Monferno. In this catalog that name is Monferno (#391).

Naoki Saito illustrated this card. The same name is on 270 other cards in the catalog.

Infernape (#392) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2024. The earliest other card is Infernape 5/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and Naoki Saito illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Infernape list a different HP.

The attack Flare Blitz lists 120 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire. Discard all Fire Energy attached to this Pokémon. Flare Up is another attack lists 200 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire. If you have fewer than 10 Fire Energy cards in your discard pile, this attack does nothing. Shuffle 10 Fire Energy cards from your discard pile into your deck. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It tosses its enemies around with agility. It uses all its limbs to fight in its own unique style."

I keep a set binder for Steam Siege, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Steam Siege set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Infernape can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
