Dusknoir 40/106 · Flashfire

Flashfire is a set in the XY series. It was released on May 7, 2014. The printed size is 106. This checklist is longer, at 110 cards. Dusknoir is 40/106, in position 40 of 110 on this checklist. Before it is 39 Dusclops, and after it is 41 Toxicroak-EX. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Dusknoir is a Stage 2 Psychic Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Dusknoir (#477), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Dusclops. In this catalog that name is Dusclops (#356).

Suwama Chiaki illustrated this card. The same name is on 102 other cards in the catalog.

Dusknoir (#477) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2025. The earliest other card is Dusknoir 2/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Takabon illustrated that card, and Suwama Chiaki illustrated this one. 14 other cards of Dusknoir list a different HP.

Shadow Void is listed as Ability. As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may move 1 damage counter from 1 of your Pokémon to this Pokémon. The attack Pain Pellets lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Put damage counters on 1 of your opponent's Pokémon equal to the number of damage counters on this Pokémon. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It is said to take lost spirits into its pliant body and guide them home."

I keep a set binder for Flashfire, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Flashfire set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dusknoir can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
