Clawitzer XY146/211 · XY Black Star Promos

XY Black Star Promos is a set in the XY series. It was released on October 12, 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. Clawitzer is XY146/211, in position 147 of 216 on this checklist. Before it is XY145 Volcanion, and after it is XY147 Hoopa. The listed rarity is Promo.

Clawitzer is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Clawitzer (#693), generation 6 (Kalos). The card says it evolves from Clauncher. In this catalog that name is Clauncher (#692).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Clawitzer (#693) has 8 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 6 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2014 to 2025. The earliest other card is Clawitzer 24/111 in Furious Fists (2014). Both list 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 5 other cards of Clawitzer list a different HP.

Mega Boost is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may attach a Special Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Mega Evolution Pokémon. The attack Crabhammer lists 60 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "By expelling water from the nozzle in the back of its claw, it can move at a speed of 60 knots."

I keep a set binder for XY Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the XY Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Clawitzer can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
