Braviary 155/86 · Black Bolt

Braviary is Pokédex #628, generation 5 (Unova). Braviary is a Stage 1 Colorless Pokémon with 140 HP. The card says it evolves from Rufflet. In this catalog that name is Rufflet (#627).

Braviary sits at 155/86 in Black Bolt, position 154 of 171. Before it is 154 Rufflet, and after it is 156 Serperior ex. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on July 18, 2025. The printed size is 86. This checklist is longer, at 171 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 86. The listed rarity is Illustration Rare.

The attack Aerial Ace lists 40+ damage. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 40 more damage. Speed Wing is another attack lists 130 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "They fight for their friends without any thought about danger to themselves. One can carry a car while flying." The regulation mark is I.

Braviary (#628) has 13 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Braviary 88/98 in Emerging Powers (2011). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Illustration Rare. Masakazu Fukuda illustrated that card, and kamonabe illustrated this one. 12 other cards of Braviary list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads kamonabe. I count 2 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Black Bolt set binder is where a full Black Bolt set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Braviary can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
